PRELUDIO IV. Intenso pero delicado

Dedicado a Ignacio Torner. Nace de una pequeña célula de sólo dos notas seguida de un ligero reflejo. Este exiguo material se expande con cada repetición hasta que la energía que acumula provoca su propia desintegración: el movimiento paralelo de las dos manos, que caracteriza el comienzo, se quiebra en un movimiento contrario. La transformación no se detiene aquí. El color armónico se diluye progresivamente y se recompone en un contexto completamente nuevo caracterizado por un extremo contraste entre un monolítico bloque de sonido y un grácil gesto melódico. Estos polos opuestos finalizan convergiendo en un gran remolino que parece resolver el conflicto planteado para devolvernos a la imagen inicial. ¿Todo ha sido en vano?.

PRELUDE IV. Intense but delicate

Dedicated to the pianist Ignacio Torner. This piece begins with a small cell of only two notes followed by a slight reflection. This exiguous material expands and accumulates enough energy to cause its own disintegration: the parallel movement of both hands that characterizes the beginning breaks in an opposite movement. The transformation does not stop here. Progressively the harmonic colour is diluted and reassembled in an entirely new context in which two very different characters dialogue: a monolithic block of sound and a graceful melody. However, everything flows and, at the end, the opposite extremes converge in a large whirlpool that seems to solve the struggle and restore the original scene. Has everything happened in vain?.
